Mission

The mission of the Istanbul Technical University Institute of Aviation is to conduct education and research at international standards in the fields of aviation, space, defense, and air transportation; to generate scientific knowledge and technology aimed at reducing external dependency in these areas; to strengthen university–industry collaboration; and to train qualified researchers and faculty members.
While carrying out its education, research and development, application, and consultancy activities with a holistic approach, the Institute aims to develop projects that serve national interests and provide sustainable solutions.

Vision

The vision of the Institute of Aviation is to become a leading and innovative research and education center that is internationally recognized in the fields of aviation and space sciences. In this direction, the Institute aims to:

• Lead scientific and technological developments in aviation, space, and defense technologies,
• Achieve leadership in knowledge and technology production through global collaborations,
• Create sectoral impact through projects that provide solutions for industry and the public sector,
• Educate its students to become innovative, creative, and responsible individuals,
• Enhance knowledge sharing through national and international scientific publications, conferences, and organizations.
